The Crookwell Potato Festival is held in the first week of March each year and is the major regional event in the Crookwell district. The festival kicks off on Friday night with the Last Night of the Proms concert and the Crookwell Art Gallery Exhibition followed by a full day of activities on Saturday.
Saturday is the main festival day and will see the Crookwell Memorial Park turned into a giant market with a wide range of goods available including local produce and handicrafts. At the same time Crookwell Memorial Oval will be the hub of potato activities with the Kidsfest, Spudlympics, vintage & classic cars & bikes, cooking demonstrations and much more....
A full day of entertainment includes live music by local and regional acts. Geoff the Chef will provide the young and young at heart with some wild entertainment throughout the day.
The Crookwell Potato Association will be conducting guided paddock tours where you can learn all about the potato and dig your own to take home!!
In the lead up to the festival, the Spudtakular will give our kids a chance to show off their talents and the Potato Poetry Competition will challenge the Primary School students. Don’t miss the “Anything But Chips” competition as our local eateries via to produce the best potato dish of 2013.
So why not do yourself a favour and head out to beautiful Crookwell and help us celebrate over a century of growing the humble potato....
